When Windows 11 was launched, it became a huge success. Since then, Microsoft has been rolling out new updates. It has been liked by users because it is convenient and easy to install/download. But it still comes with some problems especially in the process of updates. Windows 11, being a dominant version of Microsoft, is installed on 80.34% of user’s computers. And they regularly face some common problems. It’s very likely that you too have faced at least one of these problems mentioned below:
1. Can’t Install Window Update:
Every once in a while, Microsoft releases some new updates, usually it fixes some bugs and improves performance but many of the users can not install updates due to less space. This situation is faced by many but few are smart enough to take the right steps and solve it. - Another way to tackle this problem is to clean up your SSD or hard drive. You can do that by using a built in disk cleanup tool. Just go into the search bar and search for disk cleanup, click on the icon that appears on the top. After that select the files you want to delete.

2. You PC Boots Up Slowly:
Have you noticed that your PC is starting to boot up really slowly? Check your PC for malware and Windows updates. To check malware, take the following steps:
- Press the start icon.
- Search for antivirus
- Built-in antivirus will open, enable the antivirus protection and check for any malicious file.
- Do run a scan for threats every once in a while and keep your windows up to date for better security.
3. Many Pop-ups While Using Microsoft Edge:
We all know, pop-ups can be really frustrating at the time when you are working on something important. Luckily, like every other problem, it also comes with a solution. To turn off pop-ups, take the following steps:
- Open Microsoft Edge, go to the settings then site permissions.
- Click on pop-ups & redirects.
- Toggle on the block pop-ups option and you are ready to go.
4. Unnecessary Notifications:
Anyone can get fed up with too many notifications. It may be a handy feature to see and manage notifications at once but it becomes pretty annoying. Don’t worry, follow the steps and solve this issue immediately:
- Open settings, click notification & actions.
- You can toggle buttons and turn off the notifications by app-to-app.
5. Not Okay With Privacy Settings:
Many of the users aren’t comfortable with the defaults for data-sharing in Windows 11. It is recommended that review these settings every once in a while and take following steps:
- Go to the start icon and search for privacy.
- Check all the areas where your PC is Sharing data.
- Turn off unnecessary accesses like, microphone, camera and location etc.
6. You Notice Less Space After Updating Windows:
Once you install windows 11 or update to the latest version, you notice your storage running out. This happens because of old files of previous windows or software. Microsoft keeps old files in C://, in case you want to roll back to the previous version. But if you don’t want that you can delete those old files and can free up space.
7. Can’t Access Safe Mode:
Safe mode is very important for things like driver issues, virus infection, corrupted files etc. While the previous windows allowed us to go into safe mode by pressing the F8 button, windows 11 doesn’t work this way. It might cause a problem for most of the users but it does come with a solution. The easiest method to go into safe mode is to click on the start icon, go to power option, hold down the shift key and click on restart. The PC will restart and Windows will enter into environment recovery mode. Take the following steps;
- Click on troubleshoot » Advanced options » Startup » settings » restart.
- Once your PC restarts again, access the safe mode by using number keys.
8. The Big Search Bar:
As the windows changed, layout also changed. Now there is a big search bar in the task bar. This can be problematic for many users as they like their icons pinned on the taskbar. But thankfully, it can be solved easily. You can turn off or hide your search bar by right clicking on the taskbar and going to the search options and selecting relevant options.
9. Annoying Background Apps:
There are many pre-installed apps that run in the background and drain your resources. To get a boost in your system’s performance, disable them. Here’s how to do this:
- Go to settings from the start menu and click privacy.
- In the left panel click on the background app option.
- Turn off the apps that you don’t want but be careful not to turn off some services apps like alarm etc.
10. Difficulty In Installing Apps From Microsoft Store:
This is a very common and recurring problem but it can be solved by using a built-in trouble-shooter. To use it, follow the mentioned steps below:
- Go to settings » update and security.
- In the left panel, click troubleshoot » Additional Troubleshooter.
- Run the troubleshooter and your problem will be automatically fixed.
11. Your Battery Is Depleting Too Quickly:
Have you noticed your battery dying out too fast after updating to windows 10? Well, it happens and in many cases it can be solved by turning off a few apps that consume battery. Update your drivers and disable the cortana app by going to the start menu and searching for it.
12. Changed Default Apps:
Windows 11 really gets on your nerves when it can’t remember your default apps. To fix this issue, take following steps:
- Press down Win plus i and choose the system.
- Select default apps.
- Choose your option to open a specific app.
13.Printer doesn’t work:
Errors while using printers can really be a troublesome problem in window 11. Here’s how to fix this.
- Go to settings » systems » Troubleshoot » other troubleshoot.
- Find the printer troubleshooter and click run to activate it and it will solve the problem for you.
14. Can’t Find Wi-Fi Connection:
Drivers can cause this problem but here’s an easy solution:
- Find the device manager and open it.
- Go to adapters and right click on the wireless adapter option and update your drivers.
15. You can’t Open Microsoft Office Files:
This problem is a very common one and can be solved easily. You might need to repair your office and to do this go to programs & features, right click office and choose online repair. And you are ready to go!
